— Franklin County prosecutors have charged Guadalupe Montejano with first-degree murder for allegedly killing a 46-year-old Pasco woman last week.

Montejano, 48, is accused of killing Tamie A. Clark-Acevedo, who was reportedly staying at his apartment in the Vecinos Business Complex in Pasco.

Clark-Acevedo’s body was found -- battered and cut -- covered in a sleeping bag in Montejano’s closet, according to court documents. Prosecutors say Clark-Acevedo’s throat was cut with a sharp object.

Montejano was arrested on Jan. 3 at the apartment complex. Neighbors say the heard screams coming from his apartment earlier that morning.

Montejano is being held at the Franklin County jail on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to be back in court next week.
