Girls basketball: Perez leads Pasco High to victory

Sierra Perez scored 15 points, including a 3-pointer and four free throws in the final minute to seal up Pasco’s 57-48 nonleague home victory over Eastmont on Tuesday.

Annabel Perez chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Liddy Valle paced Pasco with 16 points and 12 boards.

“Annabel Perez has been with us for two long seasons, along with three other seniors. She did a great job tonight,” Bulldogs coach Aaron Barcot said. “This was a great opportunity for us to get a win before this weekend.”

Savannah Johnson led Eastmont with 24 points.

Richland 60, Eisenhower 30: Kayla Catone and Kamri Von Oelhoffen scored 15 points apiece, and Hailey Turner collected 11 points and eight rebounds as the Bombers doubled up the Cadets in a nonleague road game.

Von Oelhoffen added six rebounds and six steals, and Catone had six steals for Richland, which nearly shot better from the field (.367, 25-for-68) than they did from the free throw line (.375, 9-for-24).

“We are so up and down,” Bombers coach Cindy McCoy said, noting that she has seen her team shoot 90 percent from the free throw line during another game this season.

“The bench came in and did a pretty good job,” she added. “We kind of played a little bit better in the second half.”
