Richland roundtable event to talk education

Tri-City HeraldJanuary 4, 2014

Richland residents are encouraged to attend a roundtable meeting Thursday with Mid-Columbia legislators to discuss education policy and children's issues.

State Sen. Sharon Brown, R-Kennewick, and state Reps. Larry Haler, R-Richland, and Brad Klippert, R-Kennewick, will be at the meeting organized by the Richland PTA Council.

Topics of discussion will include possible education policy in the coming legislative session, the effects of the so-called McCleary decision on K-12 education funding and the state formula providing money for school construction projects.

The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the library at Jefferson Elementary School.
