Homeless pets group gets $12,000 donation

By The Tri-City HeraldJanuary 2, 2014

Prevent Homeless Pets organization recently received a $12,000 donation from an unnamed donor.

The donation matches funding PHP collected during its annual fund drive. The money is used for operating expenses at the agency's new facility in Benton City.

PHP has spayed and neutered more than 7,500 animals since it formed in 2009.

Most of the animals altered belonged to low-income families. About a third of the cats altered were either strays, abandoned or feral.
