Man arrested after alleged attempt to burglarize Kennewick Macy's

January 1, 2014

— A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after alarms were tripped in Macy’s at Columbia Center mall in Kennewick.

Aaron Matthew Meola was arrested and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary, according to Kennewick police.

Kennewick police found forced entry into Macy’s when they arrived at about 8:44 p.m. Kennewick and Richland police and Pasco’s K9 team did not find anyone inside the store, according to police.

However, police did find Meola near Macy’s, and Macy's loss prevention employees provided police with video evidence that apparently showed Meola inside the store when one of the alarms were tripped.
