Mickey's Music Festival coming to Toyota Center on Jan. 10

Mickey Mouse has entertained generations of kids since Walt Disney first voiced the cartoon character in 1928.

And on Jan. 10, the famous mouse brings many of his friends to sing and dance at the Toyota Center in Kennewick for Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival tour.

Mickey's buddies include other Disney favorites like Ariel and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid, Jasmine and the Genie from Aladdin, and Woody, Buzz and Jessie of Toy Story fame. In all, there will be about 25 Disney characters featured.

And, there's a good chance adults will have as much of a good time as kids at this show.

"We've created an environment where audience members will be able to connect with the Disney stars," said Alana Feld, with Feld Entertainment. "Within each concert moment are elements of personal interaction, and the audience will be harmonizing, dancing, laughing and having an outrageously good time with the characters."

Music director Stan Beard remixed most of the music and also wrote a few new tunes for the show. The music ranges from rock/pop to reggae/hip-hop and some jazz and country.

The show is directed and choreographed by Fred Tallaksen, whose credits include a Latin Grammy for best video for Juanes' Me Enamora. He also has been involved in several TV shows and a few movies.

Showtimes are 4 and 7 p.m. Jan. 10 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. Tickets cost $23 to $45 and are available at ticketmaster.com or the Toyota Center box office. Tickets at the box office avoid service charges.
