Pasco man accused of child rape

A 22-year-old Pasco man is accused of raping a grade-school girl several times during the summer of 2011.

Adrian Ray Lopez is charged in Franklin County Superior Court with two counts of first-degree rape of a child.

He has been sent a summons to appear in court on the new charges.

According to court documents, Lopez had told the girl not to say anything and she was scared he'd do something if she did.

But two years after the alleged sexual assaults, the girl became freaked out during a discussion with her friend about death and was afraid she wouldn't go to heaven because of what had been done to her.

The girl then told her mother, who called police in July to report the crime.

The victim, when interviewed in August, went into detail about each incident, saying the suspect had touched her both over and under her clothes and had forced himself on her, court documents said.

She "became visibly shaken" during the interview and started to cry.
