Chiawana 71, Central Valley 60: Delaney Hodgins scored 26 points and sophomore sister Braydey Hodgins added 19 to lead the Riverhawks to a win at home in a happily postponed game.

Chiawana was supposed to open the season against CV and Ferris, whom it hosts tonight, but delayed the games because of the football team playing in the state championship game in Tacoma.

The key to Friday’s win was a hot start from the floor.

“At the start of the game, we went 6-for-6 from the 3-point line, and that kind of got us the early lead,” said Riverhawks coach Steve Davis. “We were able to hold on to it and make free throws down the stretch to win the game.”
