Thankful Thursday: Helping us help kids

December 26, 2013

The members of the Columbia Basin Shrine Club (CBSC) want to thank the members of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 598 for donating the cardboard from the recent Bikes for Tykes project. Their donation allow us to recycle the cardboard and use the proceeds to support our mission. The CBSC is an affiliate club of the El Katif Shrine Temple based in Spokane. El Katif's primary mission is to support the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Spokane. CBSC assists El Katif by conducting screening clinics throughout the Mid Columbia as well as providing transportation from the Mid-Columbia for children whose parents cannot afford to transport them to Spokane.

The Shriner's Children's Hospital provides orthopedic care and treatments for a number of medical issues for children under the age of 21 regardless of their ability to pay. Shriner's Hospitals are one of the leading research hospitals for a wide range of children's ailment's ranging from birth defects to orthopedic injuries.
