Letter: Grateful for visionary supporters

December 18, 2013

The Franklin County Historical Society & Museum has much to be thankful for this holiday season, including the Tri-City Herald's "Holiday Wish List" series. We are proud to report we have more than 100 new memberships since we were featured in the series!

We are also thankful to the board members of the Three Rivers Community Foundation who put in so much time and effort determining grants for local nonprofits. The $4,000 we received will help us implement our "museum makeover" plans.

Finally, we want to express our appreciation of Jim Toomey's exemplary service to the Port of Pasco, Franklin County and the Tri-City community. Jim's patience and leadership have extended far beyond the Port of Pasco. We have been the beneficiary of Jim's considerate foresight, as has the city of Pasco's Historic Preservation Commission. He has worked hard to establish an organization that treasures its history while striving for growth and viability. We applaud the legacy of caring leadership and vision he leaves behind as he retires from his position of executive director for the Port of Pasco.

In short, we are truly blessed by our community's businesses, organizations and individuals who support nonprofit efforts in this community.
