Water service in Kennewick to stop temporarily Thursday

Tri-City HeraldDecember 17, 2013

Water service will be interrupted to about 770 properties in Kennewick near 45th Avenue and Olympia Street on Thursday.

Construction on the water main at that intersection will mean no water service between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., according to a city of Kennewick news release.

The affected area is from Olympia to Washington streets and Highland Drive to 53rd Avenue. Property owners already should have received notification of the outage.

City officials recommend that residents turn the power off to their hot water heaters during these hours. Once the water is back on, residents may need to run their water for a few minutes to remove air or cloudiness.
