Letter: Manmade laws

December 17, 2013

In the beginning, there was only God's laws given to his people through his holy prophets. These are eternal laws. They have never been popular, because the prophets were continually killed. To govern the people, manmade laws were written through the ages by good and evil men and women.

As we continually change the manmade laws to support a popular fad and slowly drift away from these eternal laws, we allow our great nations to eventually suffer the law of unintended consequences. The prophets foretold of the day when good will become evil and evil will become good.

As I enter my 63rd year, I have seen so many changes over the years. Many good, many bad. It all depends on one's point of view. We have a vocal minority trying to take all religion out of public sight. It begs the question: Why? What do they fear? I have many friends of other religions. When they pray I remain silent and bow my head as a matter of respect. It does me no harm. As a prophet Joshua once said: "As for me and my house, we will serve the lord."
