Letter: Red light runners

December 17, 2013

I've lived in the Tri-Cities for 22-plus years, and I'm shocked at the increase I have seen in people running red lights. This month alone: Road 68 and Burden Road, Road 100 east exit and Broadmoor, Columbia Center Boulevard and Canal Drive and George Washington Way and Columbia Point.

George Washington Way was the worst I've ever seen. Three lanes of traffic are waiting to proceed south when two cars in the middle of the intersection run their red light and nearly collide with the three lanes of traffic proceeding south on their green light. It was a near miss!
