Tri-City HeraldDecember 16, 2013

Austin Neilson has been hired by the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce as its government and economic affairs coordinator.

He will research and communicate the official public policy positions of the regional chamber while working with state, city and local organizations on issues that affect member businesses.

Neilson also will manage several regional chamber programs and activities, including the annual Elected Leaders Reception; Tri-Cities Legislative Council's trip to Olympia and Thank You Reception; the P.O.W.E.R. Coalition; and the Tri-Cities Business Builder website.

Neilson moved to the Tri-Cities from Lansing, Mich., where he worked for almost seven years at Wiener Associates, a full-service government affairs law firm. He served as policy analyst and a lobbyist, handling research and analysis of issues in the state legislature and major projects for clients.
