A 48-foot private boat sank over the weekend in about 15 feet of water at a Port of Kennewick dock on Clover Island.

No injuries were reported.

Port officials placed an oil-spill containment boom, which looks like buoys, around the boat to make sure no oil or gas spreads into the marina.

So far no leaks have appeared, they said.

Officials are not sure why the wooden vessel sank and won't know until it can be raised out of the water.
