Semi loses control on icy roads, jackknifes at Wallula Gap

— A semi-truck and trailer jackknifed on icy roads on Highway 730 at the junction of Highway 12 just before 8 p.m. Thursday, the Washington State Patrol said.

Louis F. Pribble, 47, of Hermiston, was driving a 2005 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer east on Highway 730 when he lost control, jackknifed, struck at post and came to rest on the eastbound shoulder of the road, the state patrol said.

He was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

The state patrol he said he was driving too fast for conditions.
