Cleaning crews working on water damage

Crews from North West Restoration in Richland were still at work Wednesday afternoon airing out water damaged areas of the Wynwood of Columbia Edgewater facility in Richland.

Several rooms at the senior living home were flooded Tuesday after a pipe in the fire sprinkler system burst.

Some residents rooms and public areas received water damage however any residents who chose to stay with family or friends have been allowed to return, said Julie Davis, spokesperson for Brookdale Senior Living which runs the facility.

No one was injured in the mishap and professional cleaning crews were called in immediately, she said.

Power was also out for a time Tuesday but was restored within a few hours, she said.
