Post offices to extend hours Saturday

Tri-City HeraldDecember 11, 2013

Three Tri-Cities-area post offices will extend hours Saturday and on Dec. 21.

The main Pasco Post Office, 3500 W. Court St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturdays. The Richland Post Office, 815 Jadwin Ave., and the West Richland Post Office, 4801 Van Giesen St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

The post office will offer all its retail services both days, including package mailing and postage sales.

Other area post offices will remain open their regular hours during the holidays.

The U.S. Postal Service plans to find a new location for the Richland Post Office as part of cost savings, but has “nothing concrete” in place, spokesman Ernie Swanson said.

“We’ve had facilities people looking at possible sites, but nothing has happened,” he said.

The post office has no timetable to move, but Swanson said, “the sooner we can get out of our lease the better.”
