Letter: Grant for presidential appointees study a waste

Where is the common sense in this $170,000 grant Washington State University Tri-Cities to: "support the study of ties of presidential appointees." Excuse me, who really cares? Obviously not Obama, since he appoints who he wants, when he wants! After all, he is the president of the United States and reminds us of that frequently. So, why is this study necessary? My freedom of speech dictates that this grant to WSU Tri-Cities is a large waste of money on an obtuse project.

How about a grant to study why we have so many homeless people or perhaps a study to initiate jobs and put the homeless and those living on the tax-payers dollars to work!
