Senior living home in Richland closed after burst pipe, electricity shut-off

December 10, 2013

A Richland senior living home is contacting the families of residents after a sprinkler system pipe burst and the electricity was shut off as a precaution.

An electrician is at Wynwood Brookdale Senior Living on George Washington Way evaluating “if the water impacted the integrity of the electrical system,” a city news release said.

“Wynwood will not open until the sprinkler system and electricity is operational. Wynwood has 116 residents that were impacted with some residents displaced by today’s events,” the release said.

To check on a resident, call Wynwood at 946-4600.

The city fire department is urging building owners to check their pipes for damage from the cold, the release said.
