Letter: For official use only

December 9, 2013

How many times have we seen the words "For Official Use Only" painted on the doors of our government vehicles? Shouldn't this also be painted on the entrance door of Air Force One?

How can the president and his support team going on a political fundraising trip be seen as official business? Should not the political party or recipient of the benefit of this fundraising trip be required to reimburse the federal government for the expenses of operating these aircraft and salaries of those supporting these trips? The cost of operating Air Force One is many thousands of dollars an hour, plus the super craft carrying his limousines and helicopters. Food for thought.
