Middle school evacuated after pipe bursts

December 9, 2013

An east Pasco middle school was briefly evacuated Monday after a pipe broke, school district officials said.

The burst pipe set off an automatic fire alarm at Ochoa Middle School, 1801 E. Sheppard St., which forced students to leave the building, officials said. Students were brought back into the building and the pipe was repaired.

Cold weather is believed to have caused the breakage, officials said.
