Letter: Land should be cherished, not sold

December 7, 2013

A recent auction of Red Mountain land raised $8.3 million. The land there is prime wine grape-growing land.

I wonder why, as humans, we apply such a human construct as money to such things around us. Land is not to be bought and sold. The land of this Earth is just that -- land. It is where we exist in our lives until the presence we have in this world has expired.

I believe that such natural beauty should be cherished as such, rather than sold for the monetary profit of the ego.
