Fast Focus: 'Did you shop on Thanksgiving?' A day for celebrating

December 6, 2013

I did not shop on Thanksgiving nor will I ever; I suspect I am a little old-fashioned. I am determined to celebrate and enjoy each holiday when it should be celebrated and for the purpose it should be celebrated. To me, Thanksgiving is a time to be with family, enjoying rich family traditions and cherishing the many blessings I have in my life. It is a time to reflect, appreciate and truly be thankful to those who bring meaning and fulfillment to my life. It is a time to recognize and give thanks to a loving Heavenly Father for all I have been blessed with.

Shopping on Thanksgiving is truly a distraction and contrary to my perceived purpose for the day.
