Active duty military members, veterans and their families are invited on a Christmas train ride today in Pasco.

The train ride by BNSF Railway is free, but riders need a ticket.

The train leaves at 4:30 p.m. from the Pasco Amtrak station, 535 N. First Ave., for an hour-and-a-half ride, said Shirley Schmunk of Richland is helping organize the event and whose son was killed in 2004 in Iraq.
