Two shot in alleged Walla Walla gang incident

December 1, 2013

— Two men were shot Saturday afternoon during an alleged gang confrontation in Walla Walla.

The victims, both 21, were treated for non life-threatening injuries at a local hospital, according to Walla Walla Police.

The two men apparently were shot while they walking in the area 200 block of Eagan Street around 4:24 p.m. just after being challenged by two suspects, according to police.

Police were notified when one of the victims arrived at a local hospital, and the second victim was found at an apartment complex by an officer who had responded to the call, police said.

A home in the area was also struck near a window, according to police.

The road was closed for several hours while detectives were collecting evidence. The incident is under investigation by gang detectives from the Special Teams Unit.

The suspects have not been identified yet, and no arrests have been made, police said.
