Two semi-trucks pulling trailers collided at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 17, said the Washington State Patrol.

The crash happened at Booker Road, 35 miles north of Pasco.

Rebecca L. Avila, 53, of Irrigon, was driving a 2008 Freightliner and 1990 Star Trailer west on Booker Road when she failed to yield and pulled into the northbound lane of Highway 17, the state patrol said.

She hit a 2005 Freightliner truck and 1981 Polar trailer driven by Joel E. Smith, 37, of Connell, which was traveling north on Highway 17.

Neither driver was injured and both trucks were totaled, the state patrol said.

The cause of the crash was failure to yield right of way, the state patrol said.
