— A hit-and-run collision Sunday night near Mesa sent four Othello people, including two juveniles, to the hospital.

A red, 1995 Ford F-250 pickup was heading south on Highway 17 when the driver tried to pass two semi trucks in a no passing zone, according to the Washington State Patrol. The driver of the pickup lost control and crashed into a Toyota Camry around 5:45 p.m.

The driver of the pickup fled the scene, state patrol said.

The Camry's driver, Rene C. Duran, 41, and a passenger, Concepcion F. Torralba-Larios, 36, were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. A 13-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy were taken to Trios Health in Kennewick.

The conditions of everyone involved in the crash were not immediately available.
