New position

-- Walla Walla General Hospital has announced a new vice president for patient care for Walla Walla's Adventist Health services. Registered nurse Karen Kellar will leave her post at Tillamook Regional Medical Center, where she has served as vice president for patient care of that Adventist Health hospital since 2011, for the position in Walla Walla.


-- The Yakima Valley Community Foundation recently gave $15,000 to the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project for community outreach and education about immigration issues in the Yakima Valley. Jorge L. Barn, the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project executive director, said in a statement that the outreach will focus on options available for area residents under current immigration law and potential changes should pending immigration reform legislation pass.
