Blue Mountain in NWAACC title game

Blue Mountain defeated Mt. Hood 3-1 on Saturday night to secure a spot in the championship at the NWAACC tournament in Gresham, Ore.

Hermiston High graduate Crystal Schmidt had 14 kills to lead the T-Wolves, while Pasco High grad Sierra Linke added 11 kills and 12 digs.

The Timberwolves will play Olympic at 3 p.m. Sunday for the title.

Olympic must win twice in order to be champion, while Blue Mountain needs just one victory.

Spokane opened loser-bracket play Saturday by defeating Clackamas 2-1, before the Sasquatch were eliminated 2-0 by Olympic.

Madison Zinsli, a Kennewick High graduate, had 22 assists for Spokane against Clackamas.

She added 15 assists in the loss to Olympic.
