Speed causes crash, Kennewick man injured, state patrol says

— A 34-year-old Kennewick man was injured in a collision Friday morning on Highway 12 east of Pasco.

Michael P. Roeder was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang around 8:15 a.m. when he lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, according to the Washington State Patrol. The Mustang struck a semi truck.

Roeder was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. His condition was not immediately available .

The semi truck’s driver, Florencio S. Santana, 40, of Paterson, was not injured.

Speed was the cause of the crash, state patrol said. Both men were wearing their seat belts.

Roeder’s Mustang was totaled and towed from the scene.
