Extra traffic patrols in Tri-Cities for drunk drivers to start

Tri-City HeraldNovember 20, 2013

There will be extra traffic patrols out in the Tri-Cities to catch people driving under the influence during the holiday season.

The Holiday Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign will run from Nov. 27 through the first of the new year.

Between 2008 and 2012 an average of 49 people have died in traffic collisions in Washington during this time each year, according to the Washington Safety Traffic Commission.

The extra patrols are part of Target Zero, which aims to reduce traffic deaths throughout the state.
