Axiom Brass

The next Camerata Musica concert, which is Nov. 23, features a quintet of guys who call themselves Axiom Brass.

And this concert will take the audience outside the usual chamber music fare the Camerata series is noted for.

"It has been several years since we had a brass quintet on the series, and that combination had specifically been requested in an audience survey we did two years ago," said Nancy Doran, chairman of the music series.

But trying to find a brass quintet willing to do a classical chamber music concert isn't easy, Doran added.

What makes the Chicago-based Axiom Brass even more unique is the group's program includes sacred music from Renaissance and Baroque composers such as Tchaikovsky, Bach, Handel and Gabrieli.

They are an internationally recognized group for their groundbreaking music style that stretches their brass sound from classical to jazz and Latin.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. in the Battelle Auditorium, on Battelle Boulevard, off George Washington Way in Richland.

Admission is free, but seating is limited, and patrons of Camerata Musica receive priority seating.
