Letter: Christians persecuted

As the country slips further into socialism with increasing governmental controls and Malthusian thinking, we also naturally slip into more arbitrary laws and loss of freedom.

Governments that do not recognize the divine purpose of each human life often resort to brutal means of population control and the persecution of religion. China is one step further than the U.S. in undermining freedom by brutally controlling both religion and population.

China and the world are doing the same thing, in one way or another. In Iraq, Syria and Eygpt, we see the oldest Christian churches becoming the most persecuted once again. Christians are being wiped out in these countries, but Christian culture, based on love and forgiveness, will survive as it always has. But will our Christian religion survive in the United States?

The inefficiency of the president of the United States and his administration and the inflationary overspending are symptoms of a greater problem.

The focus on funding contraception and abortion instead of true and good health care and failure to provide for religious and conscience exemptions now seem to be leading us to a similar destiny as China's, and maybe a lot worse. Anger is everywhere. Let freedom ring!
