Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland dedicated a new road Monday connecting Jadwin Avenue to the east end of the hospital campus. The new road is called Kadlec Way.

Kadlec built the road under the terms of a development agreement approved by the city council earlier this year. The pact allowed the hospital to close a small section of Goethals Drive -- creating a more pedestrian friendly campus -- once the new road was finished.

Rand Wortman, president and CEO of Kadlec Health System, was joined by Richland Mayor John Fox and others for the Monday morning ceremony.

Kadlec Way is north of Swift Boulevard next to the Kadlec Medical Office Building.
