Faulty cable causes east Pasco to lose power

Tri-City HeraldNovember 15, 2013

About 1,700 east Pasco customers lost power Friday morning because of a faulty underground cable, according to the Franklin Public Utility District.

Service was lost about 7:10 a.m. and work continued until about 11:50 a.m. to restore power to all customers.

The outage affected Ochoa Middle School, Virgie Robinson and Whittier elementary schools, where power was restored by about 11:10 a.m.

Pasco schools were on early release for parent-teacher conferences, and classes continued despite buildings not having power for much of the shortened day, said a release from the school district.
