UPDATE: Windy Friday night, Saturday predicted in Tri-Cities

— Wind gusts of up to 43 mph are forecast in the Tri-Cities after 10 p.m. Friday, continuing through much of Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 10 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday.

A strong upper jet stream will contribute to winds that start to build Friday with a southwest wind of 21 to 23 mph and gusts as high as 33 mph. Rain also is possible.

Friday night a southwest wind of 28 to 33 mph is forecast with gusts as high as 43 mph.

Winds Saturday should be about 28 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph.

The wind speed should start to decrease Saturday evening.
