Letter: Tri-Cities' overwhelming generosity apparent during 'Pinktober'

November 14, 2013

I am a volunteer with Chest of Hope Tri-Cities, a local nonprofit assisting women going through breast cancer treatment. Now that "Pinktober" is over, I would like to express my gratitude to all the individuals and businesses that supported Chest of Hope Tri-Cities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I specifically want to thank Cheri Manley who was so generous in helping us get a booth at the Women's Expo at TRAC; Angela Rose, Roberto Parra and the Bella Vista Apartment Complex for sponsoring our Halloween Zumba fundraiser; all the vendors who so graciously donated space in their stores, door prizes and silent auctions items to our Curds Against Cancer event on The Parkway in Richland, at which we partnered with the Young Survival Coalition. Also, a big thank you to Liz McLaughlin at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center for spearheading the adoption process of Chest of Hope by the Cancer Center. What a wonderful partnership this is going to be! Year after year, I continue to be amazed with the generosity and compassion exhibited by the people of the Tri-Cities. You overwhelm me.
