A nonprofit that helps injured and disabled veterans received a Veterans Day gift.

Seattle-based Ashley Furniture presented Camp Patriot with a check for $38,295 Monday outside Ashley's store near Columbia Center mall in Kennewick. The money was raised through the furniture stores' haunted house in the Tri-Cities.

Montana-based Camp Patriot helps disabled veterans "reconnect with life" by taking them on outdoor adventures, according to a news release. It helps between 50 and 100 veterans a year go on adventures like climbing Mount Rainier, hunting, driving high performance race cars and flying motorized gliders.
