Woman in stable condition after Richland hotel stabbing

— A 42-year-old woman is in stable condition at a local hospital after she was stabbed multiple times Sunday inside a room at the Days Inn in Richland.

The victim and Cassidy S. Coffey were in the hotel room when a fight broke out around 6:45 p.m., according to Richland police. Coffey, 32, allegedly stabbed the woman with a knife.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with wounds to her torso. Coffey was also injured in the fight.

Coffey was arrested and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. She is on a 72 hour hold while prosecutors review her case,

A small folding knife was found in the hotel room.

Police did not release any other details about the incident.
