Letter: Why do Mid-Columbia voter support GOP?

November 12, 2013

It's been estimated that the Republican shutdown of the government cost the U.S. economy more than $24 billion, drove small businesses near the National Parks into bankruptcy, and caused needless stress to millions of Americans.

Another day of the shutdown would have brought about furloughs to workers at Hanford who depend upon government funding. Why do the good people of the Tri-Cities and surrounding area continue to support Republicans who are not working for the best interest of our citizens?
