Mid-Columbia seniors dominated the girls district swimming meet this weekend at Central Washington University. Hanford’s Lisa Tixier, Richland’s Lisa Bratton and Southridge’s Danielle Freund all won events to get ready for the WIAA state swimming meet, set for Nov. 15-16 in Federal Way.

Tixier was part of four victories in leading the Falcons to the 3A team title. She was also named the 3A swimmer of the meet.

Bratton was named the 4A swimmer of the meet, as she won two individual events as well as anchored the Bombers’ district meet record-setting 400 relay.

Richland’s foursome of McKenzie Schroder, Lauren Hall, Alyssa Musick and Bratton recorded a time of 3 minutes, 38.60 seconds, beating last year’s record (by Richland) of 3:40.13.

Freund, meanwhile, set a district record for diving score when she tallied 405.05 points over 11 dives. The old mark was 392.35 points.

Hanford’s Mylie Oberg had a good weekend, placing first in the 200 and 500 free, while swimming a leg on the 400 freestyle winning team.

The Kennewick trio of Alexis Murphy, Blair Murphy and Samantha Lester will compete in four events at state for the Lions.

The three, along with Courtney Schreiner, won the 200 Medley relay.

Lester won the 50 free, while Alexis Murphy won the 100 butterfly.

Southridge’s Rachel Schafer will compete at state in three events, including the 100 backstroke, which she won Saturday at the district meet.

For the Bombers, Musick, Hall and Schroder will compete in three state events. Schroder won the 200 freestyle event.
