Hermiston man arrested in 'brazen' burglary

Tri-City HeraldOctober 30, 2013

— A 43-year-old Hermiston man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly burglarized a home and was caught by the resident later that night returning to retrieve stolen property he’d hidden.

Refugio H. Campos, 43, was booked into the Umatilla County jail on suspicion of crimes including first-degree burglary and attempted first-degree burglary, Hermiston police reported.

“This burglary is very alarming as the brazenness displayed by Mr. Campos to not only commit the initial act but follow it up with a second act to retrieve property is unique,” police wrote in a news release.

The release said Campos also faced charges earlier this month in connection with car prowls around a catholic church.
