Freeze warning in effect for next two days

Tri-City HeraldOctober 28, 2013

Below freezing temperatures are expected in the Mid-Columbia throughout the next two days, says the National Weather Service.

A cold dry air mass combined with clear night skies will combine to create the cold temperatures. The freeze warning is in effect from 3 a.m. on Tuesday until 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, possibly damaging unprotected and sensitive plants.

While portions of the region have already experienced freezes, tonight's freezing temperatures will cover a broader area, including all of Benton and Franklin counties and much of Walla Walla and Yakima counties.
