Knutz leads Hermiston past Pendleton

Chase Knutz needed just 10 completions to throw for 237 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Hermiston Bulldogs to a 49-28 rout over the host Buckaroos in Oregon 5A Columbia River Conference play on Friday.

Knutz completed TD tosses to Cole Smith (26 yards), Noah Engelbrecht (10 and 16 yards) and Ehtan Snow (31 and 73 yards).

Four of those five came in the first half as Hermiston built up a 35-0 lead that would reach 42 points in the third quarter before the Buckaroos mounted a comeback. Pendleton QB Chad McCoy threw for 313 yards and four scores on 29-for-36 passing.

The Bulldogs had a big advantage on the ground, with Trenton Anteau and Cory Adams combining for 294 yards while Hermiston limited the Bucks to 64 on the ground.

OTHELLO 56, TOPPENISH 12: Othello scored on six of it first seven offensive possessions, easily defeating visiting Toppenish in a 2A CWAC contest.

Tanner Wagner scored two touchdowns and rushed for 90 yards to lead the Huskies.

Othello quarterback Adrian Garza scored on two TD runs, and tossed another touchdown pass.

John Lesser carried 24 times for 189 yards and three touchdowns, and Taylor Lindquist completed eight passes for three touchdowns and 184 yards to lift LC.
