UPDATE: Hwy. 17 near Mesa reopens after potato sludge spill

— Authorities have reopened a stretch of Highway 17 near Mesa after a semi rolled over, spilling potato sludge on the roadway.

The Washington Department of Transportation finished clearing the highway just before 8 p.m. Friday, a release said.

The northbound lanes had been blocked since about 12:45 p.m.
