Election letter -- Appeals Court: Metro

October 25, 2013

The following is what I've learned about the attorneys running for appeals court judge. From the Herald editorial board, I learned that attorney George Fearing has a lot of endorsements from other judges after serving on the Court of Appeals for a few months. Easily coerced co-workers are neither a compelling nor a legitimate reason to re-instate Fearing.

Attorney Gary Metro gave a clear explanation of his judicial philosophy. A check goes into the Metro column. After reading the voters pamphlet, I learned that Fearing belongs to a lot of associations that involve, lo and behold, attorneys, and he likes music and hiking.

Attorney Metro has served his community by being on the board of the Red Cross of Walla Walla, and gives a detailed explanation of his judicial beliefs. Again, a check in the Metro column. The last check mark goes on my ballot for an attorney who cares about his community, who thinks about his profession, and lets me know where he stands.
