Notes: The Suns are coming off a tough loss where they appeared to have a game-winning touchdown in the final minute, but the receiver was ruled out of bounds in the end zone. ... Backup running back Masceo Ealy-Thomas had a big night, playing lightning to Diaz’s thunder. ... Chiawana dropped its first game of the season, falling to a perennial Idaho powerhouse. ... Expect the Riverhawks to use the loss as a wakeup call, which could spell big trouble for a Southridge defense that is allowing the second most yards per game in the conference at 334.6 per contest.

Notes: The Falcons are coming off a surprising loss to Kennewick, as they werre unable to stifle the Lions’ running game. Things don’t get easier for Hanford against red-hot Richland tonight. ... The Bombers have won four in a row since a loss to Chiawana. Expect Richland to utilize its stable of running backs in Anthony Galat, Bennett Peterson, Josh Phillips and Nathan Perry.

Prediction: Richland 37, Hanford 14

Players to watch: Walla Walla, QB Zach Zehner (99-178-5—1,149, 12 TDs); WR Darnell Handcox (28-349, 5 TD). Kamiakin, RB Umid Ramizov (145-897, 14 TD); QB Kylle Robertson (93-166-4—1,578, 14 TD).

Last season: Kamiakin 35, Walla Walla 33

Notes: The Blue Devils are riding their longest win streak since 2002 and are facing a must-win if they want to get back to the postseason. Walla Walla must win out to force a three-way tie with Chiawana and Richland for the two playoff berths. ... Zehner continues to shine, showing he can run the ball as well as pass it. He had a nice shake-and-bake against a Southridge defender on a touchdown last week. ... Kamiakin can clinch the Class 3A No. 1 seed to the crossover games with a victory. ... The key will likely be the Braves’ receivers against Walla Walla’s secondary.

Prediction: Kamiakin 28, Walla Walla 21
