Cross country: Kamiakin sweeps 3A district titles

The Kamiakin boys and girls captured the Class 3A District 5 team titles Thurdsay at Leslie Groves Park in Richland.

In Class 4A, the Richland boys won the title, while the Walla Walla girls grabbed the title.

Kamiakin’s boys finished with 15 points, placing its runners in the top seven spots. Cameron Glade won the title in 16 minutes, 0.8 seconds. The girls finished with 21 points to edge Hanford. Kaylee Sanchez won the title in 19:05.7.

The Richland boys finished with 29 points to eke out a one-point victory over Walla Walla. Michael Williams won the title in 15:45. The Blue Devils girls finished with 24 points. Richland’s Lindsey Bradley won the individual title in 18:28.7.

The regional meets will be at Wandermere Golf Course in Spokane on Nov. 2. At Leslie Groves Park, Richland

CWAC meet: Sam Cuevas took fourth for Grandview in the boys 5K race, helping the Greyhounds to a dual victory over Othello.

On the girls side, Michelle Murillo was eighth for the Huskies helping them to a dual win over the Greyhounds.
