Family to hold 'Samuel in Our Hearts' fundraiser in Richland on Saturday

Tri-City HeraldOctober 23, 2013

A Richland family will be holding a fundraiser to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities in memory of their son Samuel.

Baby Samuel was born with significant heart defects and underwent multiple surgeries at Seattle Children's Hospital before he died Feb. 9 at 3 months old. While receiving treatment, the Ronald McDonald House Charities provided the family lodging while Samuel received treatment.

Samuel's parents are Alicia and Eli Jakeman.

Samuel's first birthday would have been Saturday and the family wants to give back to those who helped them.

The family extends an invitation to the public to attend a birthday party from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Road N., Richland.

The party will include games, cake, popcorn and a silent auction. All donations will go the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
